Attendance - Face to face

Students will be issued with an ID card. Each morning students will need to scan in to our computerised attendance system at the front office to record their attendance at school each day.

Students who are absent for a full day need to provide a note satisfactorily explaining that absence within seven days. Notes explaining absences are to be placed in the box labelled Absentee Notes at the front office.

Students must have a satisfactory level of attendance to achieve course outcomes and be awarded formal accreditation by the Board of Studies.

Any concerns with attendance, lateness or fractional truancy should be relayed to Mr King, the Head Teacher Administration. Students demonstrating poor attendance may be issued with an attendance card for monitoring.

Late Arrival - students who arrive late report to the front office, where they will be entered as present and will receive a ticket with the date and time. This is used as their admittance to class.

Early Leave – students wishing to leave early report to Mr King with a note detailing the reason. Mr King will issue an early leave pass to students. At the time of leaving, students come to the front office and collect their sign out slip.

Those granted authorized leave will be issued with a leave pass.

Leave can only be approved for:

  • Misadventure eg fire, flood
  • Industrial disputes
  • Participation in special events eg eisteddfod, equestrian events
  • Family holidays which cannot be taken within normal holiday period
  • Domestic necessity – death or illness
  • Medical/dental appointments which cannot be booked outside school hours.

Evidence must be attached of the specific appointment detailing practitioner’s name, address, date and time of appointment.

A copy of the full Attendance Policy can be supplied on request.
