Uniform Camden Haven High School is a uniform school, designated as such by the school community prior to the school being established. Uniforms create a pride in self and school and assist staff in identifying students whilst on excursions and are protection for students allowing staff, parents and community members to easily recognise intruders in the school playground . Note: Senior students may apply for approval for a specially designed memorabilia sloppy joe. Approval will only be given to suitably designed sloppy joes in navy, jade and white. Please Note: Items marked ** are OPTIONAL as everyday wear but MUST BE WORN if attending formal functions including Faculty Award Assemblies, Presentation Night and representing the school in the community. Physical Education and Sports Uniform (Years 7 to 12) Sports uniform can be worn to school - Wednesday mornings for Years 7 to 10 PE uniform is COMPULSORY for PE lessons and Sport (for health and safety reasons).
PLEASE NOTE: (PE/H/PE LESSONS ONLY) STUDENTS MUST CHANGE BACK TO SCHOOL UNIFORM AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SESSION. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE THEY TO BE WORN TO SCHOOL INSTEAD OF UNIFORM, OR DURING ANY OTHER LESSON. Footwear: Parents are advised that shoes made of synthetic materials are often not desirable for health and safety reasons. Leather is recommended but NOT compulsory. Black shoes are part of the uniform. Science, Art and Technics subjects require solid shoes with a sturdy, preferably leather, upper. Failure to wear appropriate shoes may mean the student is unable to participate in the practical session. PE/Sport: Students and parents are aware that after exercises feet and shoes may become very hot and smelly and for personal health and the comfort of self, and of others, it is desirable to change back to school shoes after PE and Sport sessions. Sporting Teams: Approved team uniforms are used. Students who are members of a sporting representative team are required to have a school taslon tracksuit for each representative and wear this as directed by the team manager. Prohibited Items:
Students who are not in uniform should have a note from parents/caregivers in order to avoid incurring a uniform penalty, as per school policy Unacceptable: Tight fitting/body hugging garments, bare midriff where large areas of skin are exposed, jeans, denim jackets, track pants with stripes. Fabrics and Patterns: Available from Laurieton Fabric Shop. Ready Made: Uniform items are available from Pied Piper Childrenswear and Clothing Haven, Laurieton and Lowes Menswear, Port Macquarie.
